Toronto Anti-Poverty Day of Action – Sept.26

The Canadian Auto Workers Union has endorsed the Toronto Anti-Poverty Day of Action (T.A.P.) Wed., Sept. 26, 2007.

Meet at Ramsden Park at 11:30 am on the 26th across from the Rosedale TTC Subway station.

Help raise issues of poverty in the Ontario provincial election. No one should work for less than a poverty-line wage. Over 100,000 individuals and families in Ontario are waiting for affordable, rent-geared-to-income housing. Because of inflation, social assistance rates are worth less today in real purchasing power than after the 1995 Harris cut. People without status are exploited mercilessly because they can’t complain for fear of deportation.
