I respect this Texas family for their environment-conscious lifestyle:
The Hale family has embraced organic farming because it is healthy, good for the environment and less cruel to animals. But do not mistake them for nature-worshiping New Agers or back-to-basics hippies.
They are part of a small movement of conservative Christians who believe the Bible demands an organic or natural approach to agriculture.

That’s very interesting. Kind reminds me of the organic farmer on Bowling for Columbine who was all about guns. But then, we all have our own foibles. I could be a lot greener than I am.

hmmmm. it’s all good , but makes me wonder if their bible is printed on recycled paper?

only you would remember to think of that… lol…

The article didn’t mention whether or not they owned guns, so I just assumed they did not, but I could be wrong. I still give them respect for living an environmentally sound lifestyle… Stephen, you’re right in pointing out about the people in Bowling for Columbine… I had forgotten…

Hi Annamarie, I didn’t mean to imply they had guns, just that they had characteristics that were not considered progressive in some way, just like the organic farmer in bowling for Columbine.
Good question about the bible.

Yes, my favourite sister, Scout, over at Harper Valley has a very keen, questioning mind. Stephen, I know you didn’t mean to imply that they had guns, and while they do seem have some very non-progressive characteristics, their respect for our planet is not one of them. This is what earns respect in my eyes…

Agreed.
