I read a lot about President Bush in this wonderful conspiracy theory y’all have cooked up, but why aren’t you Canuks complaining to the Queen? After all, she IS still your Sovereign (Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, Canada and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith), and any agreement that could possibly result in a “North American Union” would require HER acquiescence! But then again, following the convoluted logic necessary to make the leap from an economic agreement to the NAU, it would also be the next logical step, since Elizabeth IS the Monarch of Canada, as well as GB, and since GB is part of the EU, that it would shortly follow that the NAU would be melded with the EU and OH MY GOD, ONE WORLD GOV’T IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!!!

str8shooter: I have neither the time nor energy now to go into another useless debate with you. You see it your way, so be it. Maybe when you will notice more and more of your jobs going out of your country, you will wake up to reality. Until then, live your life, do your thing, and get your kicks out of ridiculing those who see things differently and are at least trying to make our world a better place for all…

    g’night and good luck.

  3. str8shooter says:

That’s the whole point V, y’all aren’t DOING anything. Standing around, holding placards, and yelling at people about things you have no comprehension of accomplishes NOTHING! How about actually getting involved in your local governments and trying to effect change yourself!

  4. verbena19 says:

I AM involved in my local governments and various organisations, and TRYING to effect change! I know that carrying placards IS NOT ENOUGH!! People need to be informed about issues and get involved at the grass-roots level.

    Enough said.

  5. str8shooter says:

GREAT! Now all you have to do is build a team and run for office so that you can effect change from the INSIDE! Look, you and I may not agree on much of anything but I think we can agree that standing around bitching about it doesn’t ‘feed the cow’, you’ve got to DO something. As for myself, it looks like I’m going to be running for one of the local Council seats this coming election, whether I want to or not! I’ve had literally a hundred people telling me that even if I don’t ‘officially’ run, they’ll write my name in, and they’re telling their friends and associates to do the same, so it looks like I’m in for it now, and the fact that there are a couple of people on the Council that sound like they’re as Liberal as you, it ought to be fun to watch them scream if I DO get elected!

  6. str8shooter says:

OH! BTW, y’all really do need to quit getting all up in arms about this whole NAU. I know that y’all aren’t all that happy about the idea, but trust me, we’re even less enthralled about it, and frankly, the way our laws work here, it’s not going to happen because We The People don’t want to have our economy wrecked like West Germany’s was with the reunification. Betweem Mexicos abortion of an economy and y’alls Liberal ideals, doing so would literally be suicidal for the economy, and we’ve worked too long, and entirely too damned hard (in spite of all the lazy asses we’ve had to support in the process) to build the best economy in the world, and we don’t want to see either of y’all screw it up for us.

  7. verbena19 says:

Good that you will be running for a local Council seat in your town. Way to go! Hope you get elected, so be sure to let me know, ok? I bet you’ll kick some liberal ass, right? Just remember to be diplomatic when you do it… lol

Well, at least we both agree on something: neither one of us wants the NAU!! For different reasons, but same outcome, no? Let’s hope our efforts will prove successful…

    take care and best regards.
