Campaign to Establish a U.S. Department of Peace

The Peace Alliance – Campaign to Establish a U.S. Department of Peace is a citizen lobbying effort to create a US Department of Peace. There are many similar campaigns gaining momentum world-wide. Canada is among them with our Campaign to Establish a Canadian Department of Peace.

People everywhere are fed up with our global culture of war. They are working toward a world where conflicts are resolved by non-violent means.

If your country does not yet have a Department of Peace initiative I urge you to check out the US and Canadian DoP websites for ideas, contact them for assistance, then get people together and start one. If you live in Canada or the US, please get involved. Your children will thank you for the effort!

This is excerpted from the US Department of Peace website:

Participate in an historic citizen lobbying effort to create a U.S. Department of Peace. There is currently a bill before the U.S. House of Representatives (HR 808). This landmark measure will augment our current problem-solving options, providing practical, nonviolent solutions to the problems of domestic and international conflict.

Domestically, the Department of Peace will develop policies and allocate resources to effectively reduce the levels of domestic and gang violence, child abuse, and various other forms of societal discord. Internationally, the Department will advise the President and Congress on the most sophisticated ideas and techniques regarding peace-creation among nations. Learn more…
